About Us
Neighborhood Services is a United Way member and a non-profit corporation, dedicated to serving persons in need of protection and support
programs that empower neighborhoods and individuals to reach their full potential.
The agency was founded in 1964 as a coordination and referral program with the Social Security Administration's Representative Payee Program.
In 1979, Neighborhood Services began offering Gaurdianship protective services to persons who are wards of the State because of diminished
mental capacity, requiring someone to make decisions for them, as stipulated by a court order.
Neighborhood Services serves the community in a number of areas. Protection is provided through our Gaurdianship and Representative Payee
Programs. Neighborhood Services is the fiscal agent for the Federal Weed and Seed Program.
